Sunny Sunday
Church this morning, a good turnout including a couple who started coming a few weeks ago and that I finally had a chance to chat to. They've just moved back to the area from New Zealand. Good to have the chance to chat, they seem very relaxed with us.
After church I dropped Colin in Broughton Street to pick up Eilidh while I went to Dance base in the Grass market to collect Isobel. She had a ballet exam on Tuesday and today was a final practice. My blip was taken just outside, a Japanese lady and her partner, she was all dressed up in layers of frilly tuille with a man's jacket over her shoulders while he had a pale coloured suit on. They looked very smart, she held her dress up out of the way while striding out.
This afternoon we had a visit from T, Colin's best man who we haven't seen for around 47 years we spent hours chatting and catching up. We won't lose touch again.
One annoying thing happened today and it's bothering me.
As I mentioned the other day I need to alter some curtains. I put a request for suggestions on our local fb page, asking if anyone knew someone who might be able to help, finishing with a comment about it being at reasonable cost. It's a very friendly helpful local group.
This morning there was one reply from someone who commented about the church trying to take advantage of people and that I should pay to have the job done. I felt he suggested that we had lots of money and were trying to cheat people. I was taken aback and actually quite upset. I took the whole post , along with his comment, down. I'll just get some local quotes but I'd far rather have a recommendation. I realise it is his problem and not mine and that I shouldn't engage with him which was why I took it down. Why do people do that sort of thing?
