An ordinary life....

Sunshine on tulips...

Another lovely sunny day but a good bit cooler than of late.

John and Norma were coming for lunch so set the kitchen table. At this time of year the sun shines in the skylight onto the kitchen table at lunchtime and the tulips were positively glowing, so they had to be my blip for today.  They're in my favourite vase, which was a gift from my lovely Blip Pal Ingeborg brought all the way from the Netherlands.  She and her husband are currently on their annual trip to Scotland and we are looking forward to catching up with them both later this week.

John and Norma arrived and we had a lovely afternoon with them.  Norma's dementia is progressing slowly thankfully so she still has her quick and dry sense of humour.  Her short term memory isn't good and and she can get confused at times.  She understands what is happening to her and she accepts it with such grace.  Her attitude to life is carpe diem and I am glad that hasn't changed.

They left just after 5pm and D took Lola out for her long walk while I prepared dinner.  Another roasting tin cook book recipe, this time rosemary and hazelnut salmon with roast potatoes and asparagus.  I used a side of salmon so there's enough salmon left to have cold with a salad for lunch tomorrow.

Crocheted some more of Alfie's blanket, watched some tv and read some of my book.  Now time for bed.  I was awake again for over an hour during the night last night. Hope my insomnia isn't returning.
