Gooseberries

The gooseberry crop is looking good and if I have noticed them, I'm sure the local birds are already eyeing them up.  we haven't managed to move the old polytunnel frame yet, so with another early session before church, I managed to rig up this as a temporary fruit cage in the hope that the birds can watch, but not taste.

Judy and I popped up for another session in the late afternoon and made a start on the picking border.  The aquilegia are all doing well as is the grass and dandelions, so it is going to be a long project, but we made good progress in the hours that we had there and also got the second pea frame up - just need to find the non-plastic netting that I bought at Chelsea last year now. The peas and some other plants (Achocha, kiwi, etc) have been to the shed and potted on as well.

Another very productive day.  I am so blessed to have my helpers this year and we may even get the whole plot under control at this rate.

I'm planning some gardening at home tomorrow...
