Liberation Day...

Liberation Day is the national holiday on which we celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945. On this day we also celebrate the liberation of the former Dutch East Indies. On 5 May, the Netherlands will also reflect on the value of freedom, democracy and human rights. The government chose this date because on that day the Germans capitulated.
