Life cycles
It was cold this morning but got much better throughout the day. Katy's girls slept well then enjoyed chilling out before going home with their dad around 11. I spent some time today going through an application form with someone , I'm so glad I have to neither fill them in or sort through them professionally any longer. Having said that, I'll be spending tomorrow evening doing just that as we have a first attempt to shortlist applicants for Rector. Closing date is today.
I spent some time today planting my beans into their crates then doing a Heath Robinson job on supporting them, bottom of the images on my collage.
Two of the other collage images made me very happy. One is our resident ladybird who has, I think been tending a clutch of eggs for almost two weeks now, the other, one of two ladybird larvae I spotted just next to her. They must be just about ready to go into pupa stage before emerging as fully fledged ladybirds. I have been watching for larvae and almost missed these two as they were so much bigger and further on in their life cycle than I'd been anticipating.
The fourth image is the reason ladybirds like that rose bush.
I hesitate to go squishing or washing them off with the hosepipe at least I now know there are larvae around and ladybirds to follow. Let's just hope they are hungry. (Very, very hungry)Oh and I deleted Duolingo from phone and ipad last night! My over seven year streak has now come to an end.
