Szechenyi Thermal Baths

Well, my birthday started very early this morning as Sue picked me up at 2:30am and we headed to Liverpool Airport. It is so much easier than Manchester and we were parked up, through all the official stuff and on the plane without a hitch. We both slept most of the way to Hungary which was good. I had a nice moment as I went through passport control in Budapest....most of the people who work in that job in all the countries I've been to are usually po faced, but as the man handed me back my passport he gave me a big smile and wished me Happy Birthday. We then decided to catch the public bus...we weren't that sure where to get off but there were only three stops so we opted for the middle one. We then walked and walked and eventually got to our hotel, a room was ready so we could dumped our stuff then got a Bolt to Szechenyi Thermal Baths. 

What an incredible place it is and it is huge. There were hundreds of people in all the different outdoor and indoor pools, the sun was shining and it was 26º and the water temp was 77º. It was like getting into a very hot bath. We  tried a few different baths, cooling off with a freezing cold one then warming up outside in the hot water and very hot sunshine. What a way to celebrate my birthday, I loved it. 

We nipped back to the hotel then went off and found a lovely little place to eat. It is lovely to sit outside and just enjoy lovely food and watch the world go by.
