40, 780 of my steps or 17.5 miles.
I was up and awake at my usual time, and taken with the urge to walk through the local country park, along the Bourn Brook (Walk)Way as far as the hospital, (toilets easily accessible on a Bank Holiday....) then home again via... well, not sure what route but I hadn't planned on the "Keep walking to see how far I can get" kind of day it turned into to do that quantity of steps!!
I did a bit of A-Z side street walking around the county cricket ground, then marched rapidly past the large park, having spotted a rat scuttling from bush to bush. No, not one as big as a cat, as some news outlets have been describing the rats sighted during this season of strikes in the waste collection department.
I kind of just kept going until I reached the city boundary just a short walk from the start of the bus route which ends at church, and passes the end of my cul-de-sac.
It's the longest walk I've done since early 2020. I had begun to wonder if I'd ever get back to these kinds of distances again. It's great to see it's still possible!
I liked this dragon bench outside a local library I passed around the 35,000 steps mark.
