Flakebridge

Caught up with my sister, niece and family in Switzerland first thing. They have a new addition of Cooper, the eight week old cocker spaniel.

Then C&P and Narla the dog picked me up and we walked from Dufton to see the bluebells. It was a spectacularly beautiful day with hares racing and tumbling in the fields, curlew overhead, a pied flycatcher spotted, and a sea of glorious sweet scented bluebells as good, or better, than we’ve ever seen them before. We stopped at our usual spot for a picnic lunch of spanakopita made by C and then made our way back and finished off with a pint at my local.
Back home I did a bit of evening gardening and dispatched the other box that has also succumbed to blight.

Meanwhile Callum has been doing exhausting stuff in Scotland … a 50km ultra. I did rather regret abandoning my tentative plan to go up and cheer him on.
