This'n'That

A roadside beauty

This poppy really stood out.
I've added some photos from the Ruckle Heritage Farm Day yesterday. The highlight for me was seeing the small herd of heilan coos. Unfortunately I didn't get any really good photos of them, too far away or in the shade. The one that really surprised us was a mum eating a dried snake. The young one was trying to get a taste of it too. They were right by the fence and moving a lot, but I added a photo of them as the first extra. At one point, the mum lifted her head, came within a couple of inches of my face, and smelled me. I was delighted!
2nd extra: young coo grazing
3rd extra: weaving a reed basket. The weaver told me that she collected the reeds from a local lake and that was their natural colour. Beautiful.
4th extra: spinning
5th, 6th and 7th extras: blacksmith demonstrations
8th extra: scraping a sheepskin
9th extra: volunteers at a food booth
10th extra: a food truck
