An auspicious day.
Met Lala by puja ghat, another old friend found unexpectedly.
So, changes.
The caravan is gone, north to the hills, the streets quieter, the vibe changed. This morning deposited me in a familiar place, one which I thought might only exist in memory. But a slow wander found that place rising, no time constraints, puja made, a contemplative mood gathering.
Later a quiet and personal Aarti, drawn in, the darkening waters and the flame, stripped of all extravagance until the watcher was consumed and only the ceremony remained, out there in the quiet beyond each fickle self.
On the next ghat the Hari Krishna drummers and choir, transcendent sounds gathering a snowfall of apple blossom, eyes closed until the silence returned.
And there was Pushkar, hiding in plain sight and audible now that the simple beats of the circus are stilled; the personal replacing the persona, a sense of stillness returned.
Two parades today, tractors and horses, illuminated umbrellas opposite the sweet shop and a white horse, an auspicious day.
