Getting There
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
I took this photo on my way into the office. I wanted to encourage Olly to come and see me there because her favourite coffee place is around the corner.
It did not work.
Nevertheless, I am feeling positive today.
I'm glad I went into the office, though I do not plan of making a habit of it. If Subbu isn't concerned, then I'm all good with commuting from the bed to the couch.
But work-wise it was a pretty good day. I feel like I'm starting to understand this job more and honestly it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I'm hoping I can shift gears and maybe cruise for a while* after the never-ending whirlwind that was my last 3 months at Kainga Ora.
I did meet up with Olly at lunchtime. As usual we talked nonsense. She told me about a dream she'd had the previous night where she had been threatened with a gun by a robber who wanted to steal her Chunky Kit-Kat.
"What do you think it means??" she asked.
I told her I didn't know but that we should get her a Chunky Kit-Kat on our way back to her office. For her own safety.
Back at home, we've been trying to incorporate a bit more of Crashy into our lives when Punky is also around. Very little at first, but now more and more. Letting Crashy explore the house and allowing Punky to be in the room, so long as he's up high and chilled.
Tonight, we went a little bit further and let them both putter around on the floor together. It was a bridge too far and poor Crashy got a fright when Punky charged him and hissed, but it is still progress.
So I hope and think things are getting better. Let's hold on to that thought. And treat ourselves to a mental Chunky Kit-Kat.
