Prague
Izzy has been on 'R and R' from her job in Kyiv for the last week or so, visiting Morocco with her chap, Nate.
As I wanted to see her - even at the price of Meeting A Boyfriend - the Minx and I arranged that we'd catchup with them in Prague on their way back.
Hence, an early start, this morning, on a five past seven flight out of Manchester. Then we enjoyed the excellent system that Uber have at Prague airport: you pay for a ride to the city and get a PIN code, which you then take to the rank of Uber drivers. They the enter the PIN on their phone and away you go. So simple, so good!
As Izzy and Nate were arriving much later, we took our bags to the hotel, where they let us check in early, and then we went for a mooch, looking for a bar and some lunch.
We didn't have to go far and found a little place which, amongst other things, had its own pâtés, which made for an excellent lunch, washed down by some beers.
One of the things I found interesting about Prague as we wandered around during the afternoon was the number of old buildings there were, which led me to look into why it wasn't more damaged during the war. And the answer appears to be poor navigation by bomber pilots!
And in the evening we met up with Izzy and Nate, who seemed unfazed by their day's journey and totally up for drinks and bite to eat. It was so lovely to see Izzy and a pleasure to meet Nate (thankfully!).
