Sunny Eys
It's becoming a habit by now: alarm clock 04:45.
After yesterday's rain we hoped we would be in for a treat. Will there be mist??
We previsualized layers of floating mist over the hills, but once on our way we saw no mist at all. The sky was crystal clear, not a cloud in sight.
As for the location, we had found a small curly river on Google and 500px.com. We sticked to that plan and found the river. Unfortunately it was completely blocked by a barbed wire fence.
Therefore we had to switch to plan B. But there was no plan B.
We walke through a wet field with high grass and in no time, due to my leaky shoes my feet were soaking wet.
After a while of walking and discussing what to do, we noticed fog rising up from the river. Long strands of mist rolled pout over field making the area quite magical again. And the sun was about to appear above the horizon, casting a golden glow already.
Suddenly it was game on!! I started to capture a panorama of the misty fields and loved it. When we discovered a curious group of cows, with golden skies above them, the magic really kicked in.
Wow!!! Peter and I were in the midst of a near perfect locationall of a sudden! All this is summarized in the two extra photos.
When we left the scene we went up a hill and we struck with another sunny, hazy view over the village of Eys. I chose that one a todays blip.
What a great way to start the day. Our final day here in Limburg.
After breakfast (yes, freshly baked bread again) we made a journey in a steam train, called the Miljoenenlijn. We traveled from Simpelveld to Schin op Geul and back. Great fun.
After that it was time to start our journey home.
At 17:00 I parked my car at my own driveway again. Just in time to say goodbye to Bas. He's going to Milan with a friend to see a huge football match, semi finals of the Champions League Inter - Barcelona next Tuesday evening. Save travels Bas!! Have fun.
