The first day of celebration
Today, the early May Bank Holiday was the first of four days in which the 80th anniversary of VE Day is celebrated. This Bank Holiday Monday saw a fly past over Buckingham Palace by the Red Arrows and those in better viewing places in Essex than us, saw them plus other, historic, aircraft, make their way to London. Mr MC did catch a glimpse of one of the Red Arrows starting his smoke trail and I settled for viewing on the TV. Later there were tea parties at Downing street and inside the palace. Later on I photographed these VE Day earrings. We did put up some bunting and a door wreath, the only house to do so in many a street it seems.
