We can talk about poetry and books and music. We can enjoy contrasting preferences and each learn from the other.

But why?

Because sitting in the garden, in the sun, late Spring, with the shoots appearing, with all possibilities and probabilities apparent, with the pitfalls and risks acknowledged, with the birds singing, with the sheer randomness of it all. With ..

But why?

Well to be honest. I really wanted to show you how well the shpuds are coming along; how beneficial planting marigolds alongside tomatoes are; how soaking your broad bean seeds in water overnight speeds up germination.

But why?

‘Nuff said.

(I’m now officially a gardening bore. And I like the new me).
