WREN

I had a dental check-up this afternoon and went in feeling quite smug because she usually tells me everything is great and sends me on my way. However, this time a routine x-ray shows decay under two large fillings in back molars which if left could cause an abcess, affect the root or cause the teeth to split in two (she showed me the x-rays and photos). Fortunately they haven't caused me any sensitivity or pain yet but, at eye-watering expense I shall return after my holiday to have the teeth refilled and then crowned, which with any luck should last longer than I do! And at least it gets rid of two enormous elderly and leaky amalgam fillings.

On the way home I took a quick turn around the lake in the park. The ducklings, cootlings, and cygnets all seem to be thriving so far, and there were a number of wrens all calling to each other. This was the one who posed in the best lit position. I just noticed that I received several hearts for the ducklings a couple of days ago, so thanks very much to those of you kind enough to leave stars and hearts. x
