Large Red Damselfly

I'd got a lovely Speckled Wood in the can by 11am, so carried on pottering in the garden. I knew it was about the right time for emerging Azure Damsels, but I was very surprised to see, out of the corner of my eye, a red flash fluttering over the water. He may have emerged from my pond. If he did, he's the first one ever. He settled on an Alchemilla mollis long enough for me to change lens and get close and personal. First one this year. He won't be my last blipped dragon or damsel!
