Plastic.

Much against my principles, I have a mixture of artificial and real plants in my patio. It will get very hot in the summer, and I don't want to be constantly watering.

These lavender are plastic from IKEA, and look very pretty. They come in white containers, so I mixed up some chalk paint. Now the containers don't  look quite so stark. I've given them a little stipple texture. The shelf they are sitting on is a piece of left over decking plank. We love to repurpose! And maybe it makes up for using plastic flowers!

Camera club tonight. We are wandering round the village and taking pictures .... It's freezing out there, so coat will be needed.
