Old Road Names
The main photo is called Watery Lane. If it is dry you can walk to a bridge over the Blackwater River but for the last few years, we haven’t been able to as it is too wet.
The lane is concrete underfoot as it was part of the old airfield built in the Second World War. Now it is overgrown as the build-up of mud has allowed plants to reclaim the lane.
The second photo is Cut Hedge Lane. I would love to know how and why it is called so.
