Find The River
This is where the River Mint joins the River Kent at the delightfully named Sandy Bottoms. Nothing unusual about that you might say. What is unusual, is that where I’m standing to take the photo is normally under a couple of feet of water and might actually be referred to as “the middle of the river”.
We went for a longer walk today along the river, but the water levels were much the same low state upstream as we saw in town yesterday. Still a very pleasant walk though, with the weather much warmer today.
Though I am loath to put a jinx on this current spell of dry, sunny weather, I really do think we need a spot of rain now to help restore the river levels. Maybe it could be arranged to have a few downpours on to the fells in the middle of the night for the next week or so. That should do the trick…
