Cuckoo time

Back home and the official birdwatcher wasted no time in taking me to Emsworthy Mire on Dartmoor to look for cuckoos, a guaranteed location at this time of year. It was cold up there so maybe that’s why we didn’t see one. We heard them though, always exciting. Jacqui was on watch all the time. See Extra. Maybe the hat scared them. We will probably go back very soon.
