Rest in Pieces
A couple of weeks ago, we came across this jigsaw puzzle, being completed in neighbouring Prestonpans library, as a community jigsaw.
So taken with this idea and the actual jigsaw, we ordered the exact same one (Brands that made Britain), and combined with receiving a swish jigsaw folder as a birthday present from our friends Amber and John, meant we were ready to tackle for the first time since I was a kid.
Well, Martin and I became fixated with this 1000 piece jigsaw, so much so, we completed it in eight hours over a couple of days!
Upon further investigation, it turns out that there are many benefits to jigsaws, these being noted in the Rest in Pieces website as follows:
Jigsaw puzzles improve analytic skills and attention to detail
They sharpen problem-solving skills
Puzzling is a great social activity
They improve your focus and concentration skills
They decrease stress levels—and improve your mood
Get a good night's sleep
Reboot your brain
Jigsaw puzzles have cognitive benefits for children, too
Anyway, now it’s the heartbreaking moment to break it up and move into the next one, a Marvel comics books one.
I hope you are have a good but too puzzling day.
