Gaia's Child

In Migration...

We have a birdbath on the side of our house that's far away from the feeders, pond and bog. It's nestled into several mature native shrubs but viewable from a bedroom window. It's a favorite bathing spot for small migrating birds like these two. Check the *extra... The main photo today is of an American Redstart and the other, slightly smaller bird is a Cape May Warbler. The Redstart is most likely a female or perhaps an immature male.  They happily splished and splashed for 20 minutes or so. Maybe they're traveling together. Who knows. The photos are a bit less clear than my usual because I was shooting through a a 'dog-slobered' window! Both of them are headed north to their breeding grounds and are just migrating through our yard. I wish them safe travels! m
