Low and slow

This big beast was flying over Derwentwater today. Did about four circuits.
From the number on the fuselage , ZM401 it is an Airbus A400m flying from RAF Brize Norton to Barrow in Furness.
It’s a huge transport plane. A bit later, as is normal on a fine Wednesday in the Lakes, there were some much smaller faster and louder fighter planes over the town. Didn’t manage to get a photo of those though!
In the extra, it seems to have become a thing to hang old walking boots up outside the Wainwright pub.
And a couple of pretty Mandarin ducks have taken up residence by the lake
