Over the Bridge

Today I was sure I had finally caught up on my Blips, in particular the mass of missing dates in 2023. I apologise for all the confusion!

However,  after filling the final summer 2023 hole, I simply skipped through the monthly overview and eith horror saw gaps in late spring 2024. Goodness knows where they are. 

So the pain isn't quite ended.

Photo of the protected, 'managed renaturalisation" area near Ottobeuren where there are strict rules on these fields - the mowing and fertilisation of. I'm not sure which programme (subsidies) these are in, probably the not quite so late mid-July 1st mowing, more end of June. This allows most ground brooding birds to raise their young before the mowers arrive.
