Derwent Tree

After our first climb up Kinder Scout we planned to take it easy with a circular walk around Derwent Reservoir. Flat it may be - but it turned into a good 10 miles + …. Very beautiful and of course a place of immense historical significance. I spotted this solitary tree just before we got to the “ slippery stones “ - such a beautiful setting. It got very hot so we stopped for a while to cool our feet in the water , surrounded by half a dozen ducklings.  All in all, a perfect day - finished off with a home cooked Thai curry and a few glasses of wine before collapsing in bed .
