Lost in translation

The box my tablet case came in.

Alberta is a deep, deep, Conservative province and the Premier, Danielle Smith, was not happy when Carney won the federal election for the Liberals.
Pierre Poilievre,  the Conservative leader of the Opposition who lost his seat as Conservative member in Carleton Ontario, will now run in a very safe seat vacated just for him, in Alberta, thousands of miles from his old constituency.
It seems just a little bit coincidental that her speech affirming her desire to stay in a unified Canada but laying the way open to hold a secession referendum "if enough people" voted for it took place almost immediately.
As background, the whole of Alberta is covered by Treaties 6,7,8, (and maybe more), by agreements signed by indiginous people with the Crown long before Alberta even existed. The chiefs are now reminding Smith that she cannot do what she is "threatening". More reference here
The funny thing about it is that assuming Poilievre is elected, and resumes as Leader of the Opposition federally, his constituency would be in a province touting separation. I can't wait to hear a journalist ask him "so, who are you with?"
Carney has painted PP into a corner by authorising an election for that seat.

Ah well...
