Rhododendron in the garden
A further GP phone consultation, this time with the young man I met about 8 weeks ago when I asked for a knee X-ray. He explained GPs have no authority to arrange scans but said he’d write to JMaps to see if they could prioritise my appointment. He suggested I have liquid morphine and an anti sickness pill. I’m really scared about this but I feel I have no other options.
I was just about to look at some recipes for Lynne and Gavin coming tomorrow when she phoned to cancel as she’s still got a rotten cold she got from her triplet toddler grandsons 2 weeks ago while looking after them for a weekend. It’s really tough on her as she’s still trying to get fit after her open heart surgery at New Year. We chatted about books and gardens for a bit. I’m relieved in a way as I’m not really in the mood for fancy cooking. Last night a friend from Ireland messaged to say they’d not be coming for a meal next week while in the area as they are now going to a funeral and had a lot of family things planned. I’m disappointed not to see them but understand. They are in their 80s and not that fit.
I drove over to give Chris one of the basil plants. We’d hoped to sit in the garden but it was too cold. She loaned me a Jack Reacher book - I have never fancied them but Lucy Mangan does so I’ll give it a go. A bit of an easy read before I succumb to daytime TV!
Mr C has been busy potting up bedding plants. I’m feeling guilty about being on the sofa but guilt is a wasted emotion so I’ll soon get over that.
