Seed preparation
I have been waiting for a good dry day for the oats seed preparation, and today looked like it could be the day. It was, although there was something resembling snow flakes in the air a few times. The day was actually marginally warmer than yesterday though (+6°C late in the afternoon).
The machine (vintage '52) worked well, no repairs needed during the work or afterwards, but there was one problem. The seed comes out to the front loader bucket, the undersize and oversize (plus thistle heads etc.) grain to a big bag under the machine, and the light stuff is blown out from the other end, from where the wind blows it all over the place. The latter was worse than usual with non-optimal wind direction, but that was expected. The issue that came as a nasty surprise was one big bag tearing when I was lifting it out from under the machine. It emptied a half of its contents right there, but luckily I managed to get the rest to another bag. There's always a lot of cleaning after the job, but a little more this time.
