Grey Heron and Black Headed Gull

This grey heron (bird 48) was minding its own business when a black-headed gull started an aerial bombardment. It must have been protecting its young although I couldn't see any nearby. Eventually the heron flew off somewhere quieter.

The extra is a small flock of knot (bird 49). We sometimes get the odd one or two at Burton but I have never seen such a large group.

It was good to have a chat with fellow blipper villan this afternoon who came to look for the spoonbill.
