A Big News Day!
Another of those days. Warm in the sunshine, but bloomin' cold in the shade. But lots of world news! Not only VE Day service at Westminster Abbey, but a new Pope, and a Trade Deal with the US. Starmer and Trump seem very excited about it, but the opposition says 'we've been shafted'... Also, the Lions team for the tour to Australia was announced. Eight Scots in it our best showing for many years.
Hazel popped over in late morning, and there was still just about enough room for us all to sit in the sunshine out the front garden. She's off for a bit of a holiday in proper sunshine for a couple of weeks.
JR wanted to go into town to get her favourite tee shirt from one of her favourite shops, as it's on sale. She was going to take Archie there for a big walk, as he loves that shop too (they give dog treats) but when we were out, we realised it was actually very hot (on the sunny side of the road) and maybe not the best idea to take him the whole way. I decided to walk back home with him, over the Meadows.
But we came to one of my favourite wee pubs (NO muzak) and popped in for some refreshment and a sit down. I then realised that I did not have any poo bags, and, as Archie is a prolific poo-er, this was NOT a comfortable position to be in. And so I bought a bag of crisps too, and carefully folded the empty bag for possible emergency use...
But then I had a better idea - take a bus up the road. This proved to be a good move. And we made it home with no unfortunate incidents. JR took him out later when she came home.
