A day of celebration and partying
This photo was taken in around 1950 at Christmas. RAF Kirkbride, near Carlisle, where my Dad was stationed had an annual Christmas party for all the children of the staff. Receiving the invitation in the post was a most welcome event each year. It sat on the sideboard to be admired constantly until the magic day. I remember them so clearly. I’ve put a pin on the photo to highlight me!!!

Returning to the present times, it was Quilt Group this morning down at Bramshall. It’s always a good session. Today I was preparing a paper pattern for a quirky jacket that I’m going to be making.
Tonight will be spent in front of the TV, being entertained indoors to music and bands. Amongst the laughter I’m sure that there will be tears.
I will take the opportunity to share old photos over the next few days.
