………. Ready to be lit tonight for the V E Day celebrations.
I met my husband 30 years ago today at a 50th V E Day celebration street party in our cul de sac. I was separated with two stroppy teenagers and had just moved into the house opposite where I live now ( hubby’s house).
We hit it off immediately, it was love at first sight even though I actually wanted nothing more to do with men ( after being badly messed around by my previous husband).
The chemistry was right between us and when he surprised me by asking me to marry him 4 days later, I surprised myself more by saying yes ( I knew then that it was right).
We had a few tough times in the early days ( mostly with difficult teenagers) but we got through and I don’t regret a single thing - it’s as right today as it was then, even though he infuriates me sometimes I wouldn’t want him any other way ……. he’s still ‘the one’ ;-)))
