V E Day

Seeing this flag at a Dinghy Park today made me think about how life has changed in 80 years. I popped into Waitrose for a few things. At the checkout the operator and I noticed that my shop comprised Scottish oats, Welsh cakes, a Danish pastry and two Portuguese custard tarts. So different to what must have been available in the shops in 1945. We are fortunate today, in so many ways. We should not take things for granted.
