VE Day

Our Northleach Community Choir sang a few of the old World War II songs this evening just before the Northleach beacon was lit at 9.30pm.  Can't remember why we were all laughing but Mr Sk has captured a fun moment with this photo. 

Just after the beacon was lit, we hot footed it up the road to our village of Farmington to join in their commemoration of VE Day and the huge bonfire was fully ablaze as we arrived.  You can see a photo in extras if you wish. 

It was certainly a day to celebrate peace in Europe on 8th May 1945 but it was also one of great sadness for the loss of so many lives.
