Dandelion

Today began slightly misaligned, as if the world was just a fraction out of step.
Before I even left the bungalow, I had to wrestle with my cochlear sound processor - it wouldn’t work, and my iPad showed a message saying it was faulty and needed returning to the audiologist. After nearly an hour of fiddling, cleaning, and hoping, I finally got it working again. That was before I’d even stepped outside.

I went to the chemist to collect my prescription, and despite them having it over a week and a half they had still not attempted to make it up. Come back in two hours, she said, go and do some shopping first.

But I had needed the toilet and I had to return home...
Back out later, (I don't like being out later because it saps my energy with all the people around), I realised it was VE Day...something I hadn’t remembered...so when I went back out, the car parks were full, and there were too many people. Two of my regular parking spots had vanished, too: someone had taken down a garden wall to create a new driveway, which meant less access for me to the main road.

The heat made it worse. My chest felt tight, and I struggled to breathe comfortably all afternoon. I was too exhausted to do anything more. I slept a lot and, apart from a quick look at some emails and two Co-op letters, I’ve done almost nothing.

One highlight: my journals arrived, and they’re far better than expected—especially the cheerful thinner ones. They even included a postcard, which gave me the idea to decorate the covers with favourite cards and draw around them. That’s a thought for tomorrow.

Tonight, the window is open, the air is cooling, and I’m resting with a yoghurt ice lolly in my hand.

Creative is a photo of a dandelion in seed...

Night night...sweet dreams...
