A mural for Liberation Day…

It’s OK but it’s a shame the powers that be decided to bring someone over from the UK to do it. We have an excellent local artist who, with the owner, painted a house at L’ree which was JacZero’s blip yesterday https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3367181305321096589
I’ve seen a lot of work he’s done from chalk painting in a local park to caricatures on X. Bringing a non-Guernsey person over was completely unnecessary and yet another insult to the talent/ability/knowledge of locals. Another can of worms!
So this better be my saying of the day:-

The idiom “opening a can of worms” was said to have originated in the US in the 1950's or earlier, even as early as the 20's. At the time, live bait for fishing used to be stored in metal cans with handles and lids. Once opened, there'd be a mess of wriggling worms inside.
