A special Abstract Thursday

Today marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day and it may be the last big anniversary where there are still surviving veterans who can tell us about WW2.
This afternoon we went to a wonderful tea party at our local church, St John's.  It was such a lovely afternoon where we celebrated, sang, ate and drank and remembered those who did not return and those who survived but saw so much.  I have included a collage in Extras.
Once home, Mr MC and I settled down to watch the VE Day concert on tv and when it was dark, I took pictures of my solar garden tommy for my abstract.  The figure was shiny but by the time I had created the abstract it wasn't - sorry Ingeborg!
