Orange Tip
Amazing end to the day yesterday with a Lancaster flying over our house on the way to land at Southend airport! Wasn't quick enough with the camera unfortunately - and it has just taken off again but flew home a different way as I had hoped to snap it today!
A lovely sunny, blue sky kind of day so took a wander at the local Downs. Normally a hive of activity for wildlife of the small variety, but with the 'grassland restoration' they're undertaking there a lot of the areas that used to be full of butterflies and dragonflies are currently mown/scalped so I did find myself getting a little depressed by it! I'm sure the 'experts' know what they're doing, even if it has annoyed all the locals who walk the Downs regularly!
On the positives, there were lots of Orange Tips around and Speckled Woods too - also saw a lone wall brown, comma, common blue, small heath and some whites. I also saw a lovely Muntjac deer who was too quick for me to snap! And met some very friendly doggies too who wanted lots of fuss!
