Day 2; looks can be deceptive.

About mid-day the weather changes; torrential rain.  The streets flood and people run for shelter under the awnings of bars and restaurants.  Including Dan, Varnika and me.

We’re our way to check out the wedding venue - V and I are singing at the ceremony and we need to sort out any sound equipment we might need, before the big day; tomorrow.

The venue is about 10 miles from the coast, up in the hills.  A tortuous journey - visibility is poor as we drive through rain and cloud. On both sides of the road - going up and coming down - a constant stream of people on bikes.

The venue is a beautiful old sandstone villa.  The ceremony will take place outside in a courtyard under an ancient olive tree.  V and I huddle under an umbrella as we take our place in the corner of the courtyard and work out with Chris where to put mics and cables without getting in anyones’ way.  I keep reminding myself it’s not a gig. The audience are not there to see us.

I can see concern on Rose’s face. If it rains tomorrow, the ceremony will take place in a sort of barn/store room.  The wedding planners will make it look nice, but it won’t be the same.

I post this late afternoon; the rain has stopped. The sun is thinking about making an appearance.  Here’s hoping.
