Nest building

At the reservoir this afternoon we were entertained by several pairs of cootes busily building their nests. One of the pair (presumably the male) would dive down and bring up some weed, then swim to the nest and give it to the other (presumably the female) who sitting in the nest would do the building. The main shows the pair working together. The extra shows the “fetcher” bringing the weed to its mate.
