Today we in Guernsey Celebrated!
Today is a very Special Celebration as we as an Island were Occupied in the 2nd world war by the enemy. My Mum aged 5 was evacuated with her school to live in Scotland and when she came back aged 11 she was to find that her dear Dad had passed away, that’s just one story amongst thousands. The Islanders literally were starving. There were too many stories of death and deprivation. So the whole Island Celebrated today. Also my main blip is of a house that has had the whole side of it painted especially for today, to remember those who gave their lives for us. The extra picture is a tiny glimpse of the Cavalcade that was great we sat on a wall and watched it all.
