Friday: Seagulls and Flowers
Very warm early morning, no wind - but it grew windier later with the tide coming in.
Potted on seedling of:
Leeks “Elephant” and “De Carentan 2” - which had been sown last October
American Land Cress
Mixed Lettuce Seedlings
Aquilegia “McKennas Giant” - there are more seedlings but that’s a job for another day :-))
Saw a solitary Swallow whilst I was pottering in the garden, I hope it’s the first of many :-)
Today’s Blip of the sky full of seagulls, is it too early for flying ants? The Sailor told me about the phenomenon many years ago - something was certainly getting all the local seagulls excited … but I didn’t see any winged ants in my garden. Also blue Bugle flowers growing in the grass at the front, which is not being cut in hope of seeing wild orchids again. Not sure what the tiny white flower is … maybe a Veronica, any suggestions would be helpful :-)
