Strike

I was minding my business indoors when a lightning strike hit the ground seemingly very close by. The pressure made my head reverberate, heart race and the electrics in the neighbourhood shut down. I went outdoors to investigate and I could hear puzzled shouts in the neighbouring compounds followed by a confused silence. It was probably still eons away but I’ve not experienced that sense of jarring proximity before. It was quite a wild ride for an otherwise quiet Sunday.
