Chives

Some people just along the road from us, not having a front garden - just blocks laid to allow cars to park - grew a number of herbs in containers a few years ago.

Now some of the Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) have self-seeded into one of the cracks, where the sunlight on the flowers and the shadows on the blockwork caught my eye on our way down to the Village this morning.
