Pink Flowering Dogwood: Back of the Bloom
In my travels around the neighborhood by bike, I have certain favorite trees that I visit. Yes, even here. There is a pink flowering dogwood over on Red Pine that comes in beautifully every spring. This spring, it didn't seem like it was going to, and I worried some, that the tree was done. But more recently, I zipped by on my bike, and there they were: gorgeous pink blooms. Well done, tree.
So I hopped off my bike, got my camera out of my daysack, and snapped a few photos. But I have short-girl problems. I couldn't really even SEE the fronts of the blooms from my five-feet-two-inch height. Why yes, and I do have eyes of blue too, thanks for asking! ;-)
Actually, I have always been a fan of photos of flowers from the back, especially sunflowers. So this was just my game. Anyway, here we are with an interesting and perhaps unexpected view of pink flowering dogwood from the back!
I wanted a song with the word "back" in it, and I was thinking of Back Where You Belong, by 38 Special. So here is that one. And here is a bonus song of the same name that I've never heard before, that came up in my search; it's from a movie I've never seen. It seems just lovely. So here is Sinead O'Connor, with Back Where You Belong, from the film The Water Horse.
