Enid

The VE Day celebrations continued in Northleach this afternoon with a VE Day Fete.

I've mentioned Enid in a previous blip, not by name but just to say we sang happy birthday to her at a Historical Society meeting last year. She is 102! I got this photo of her by the Historical Society tent at the fete. There were lots of interesting, indeed some amazing, wartime stories and photos on display, including this one showing Enid as a nurse.

There was also a dog show with innumerable competitions, fancy dress (dogs as well as humans), and a scarecrow competition. Some entries for the latter in the extras. We didn't stay for the results. I hope it didn't end as badly as the one in This Country.

Update - Stick Man won, and there were no reports of the fire brigade being called.
