Another Day

By BlackTulip

We have lift off

A longer walk today.  Alongside field No. 1 and up the middle of field No. 2, straight across at the top and along the edge of the really big field, which I was delighted to see has barley growing in it and in spite of the dry weather it looks really good.

Straight across the old railway and down into the village of Stevington.  Right at the crossroads, along the road for a while and then up by the windmill.  Right along the old railway to where I crossed it earlier and then followed my tracks back home.  Just under four miles.

It was hot out there but the breeze kept me relatively cool.

I heard cuckoos in two different locations, heard skylarks, yellowhammers, whitethroats, chiffchaffs, buzzard amongst others.

I saw, and photographed a male orangetip, a small heath and this green-veined white, which was just taking off.

I saw Chris heading home after a run and Anna out running with her Labradoodle, Leya, but other than that, not a soul.
