VE Day Celebration Park Run

The dress code was red, white and blue for this morning’s Park Run, to commemorate VE Day, with many of the volunteers getting into the spirit of the day with fancy dress.

The photo is of today’s Run Director, Jon (left, a former pupil of mine) and Tim, who is the driving force behind Street Park Run and carries out numerous roles each Saturday. Without people like them, up and down the country and across the world, giving their time every Saturday Park Run couldn’t exist so hats off to them!

I’ve got old photos of my Dad in his WWII uniform, very much like Jon’s.

It was getting very hot by the last 1500m but someone had supplied cake and biscuits at the finish line so the thought of that kept us going.

This afternoon weave been done to our favourite Garden Centre to stock up on plants for the summer so there’s plenty to keep us busy in the garden for the next few days.
