Silly Scotch
A few miles south of Kings Lynn there is the largest beer warehouse in the UK; Beers of Europe. Despite the name their slogan is 'not just beer, not just Europe' and they mainly cater for the online trade but there is a shop where you can call in and browse the warehouse. The choice is massive and they also sell lots of the appropriate glasses to go with each beer. It's too far away to go over just to buy from them (which is probably a good thing) but if I happen to be driving that way I usually call in.
The last time was a few weeks ago when we came back from a few days away and this is one of the beers I bought. I know it's in the wrong glass but I do rather like the thistle shape. It's a Belgian version of a 'Scotch' ale although I have to say that I've never had anything quite like this beer in Scotland. I was going to use it for the monthly 'Silly Saturday' challenge but I did something else last week and I don't expect it to last until the next one. Of course, for the benefit of the shot I had to open one of the bottles so now that I have, I'd may as well drink it. Cheers!
